Why this exists

Some of my most formative moments happened in a clinic far from home.

In the mountains of rural Honduras, I've spent countless trips working in a medical clinic out of a boy's home and doing local home visits for those who couldn't travel. Many patients had walked hours with their children to get there. Many had never seen a physician. In Appalachia, we cared for patients in their homes with no running water and limited access to care — in our own country.

In Cambodia, I volunteered alongside local teachers in communities where Western medicine rarely reaches. Those experiences didn't just change how I travel. They changed why I built VitalVoyager. Health preparation isn't a luxury for elite travelers — it's a responsibility for anyone who ventures beyond their comfort zone.

In Cambodia, I volunteered and visited schools in communities where Western medicine rarely reaches. I came back different both times. That's the thing about service — it asks more of you than you expect, and it gives back more than you could have planned.
