Meet the founder

Robert.
ER Doctor.
Lifelong Adventurer.

I've treated patients in mountain clinics in Honduras, cast dry flies on the Snake River in Idaho, walked the fairways of Carnoustie, and navigated the back streets of Siem Reap. Every journey taught me the same lesson: the world rewards the prepared traveler.

01
The Beginning

Twenty-five years in the emergency department taught me what travelers don't know.

As an ER physician, I saw it constantly — patients who had traveled abroad and come home sick, injured, or caught off guard by risks they simply hadn't known to prepare for. Travelers who'd never heard of dengue fever until they had it. Families who didn't know which vaccinations were required versus recommended. Adventure seekers who packed everything except the one medical item they needed most.

The information existed. The problem was that nobody had organized it, made it accessible, and translated it into plain language that real travelers could actually use before they boarded a plane.
02
The Adventures

I didn't just study the world from a textbook — I lived it.

My passport tells the story better than my CV. Fly fishing the wild rivers of Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. Chasing bonefish in the Bahamas and redfish along the Carolina and Florida coasts. Hiking and camping through the American West and exploring villages in Central America and Asia. Teeing off on legendary courses in Ireland and Scotland, and Southeast Asia.

I've traveled through Bali, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, much of Europe, and into South America. Each trip reinforced the same truth: every destination has a health story, and most travelers never read it.
03
The Mission Work

Honduras and Cambodia changed how I see the world — and my purpose in it.

Some of my most formative experiences have been far from any five-star resort. In the mountains of rural Honduras, I've spent countless hours in remote clinics, villages and homes — places where access to basic medical care is a privilege, not a given. In Cambodia, I volunteered and visited schools in communities where Western medicine rarely reaches.

This work grounded VitalVoyager in something deeper than a business model. It reminded me that health preparation isn't a luxury for elite travelers — it's a responsibility for anyone who ventures beyond their comfort zone, whether they're on a mission trip or a mountain trek.

The Platform

VitalVoyager is the platform I always wished existed.

I built VitalVoyager at the intersection of everything I know: emergency medicine, global travel, business strategy, and a genuine love for exploration. It's physician-grade intelligence made accessible — destination health dossiers, curated medical kits, and expert education that meets travelers where they are, before they go.

Whether you're leading a medical mission to Honduras, fly fishing in Patagonia, backpacking through Southeast Asia, or taking your family to Europe for the first time — VitalVoyager ensures you arrive prepared, stay safe, and come home with nothing but great stories.

Why it matters

Health preparation isn't a luxury. It's a responsibility.

Every year, millions of travelers head abroad without the health intelligence they need. Not because they're careless — but because no one gave them the right information in the right format at the right time.

VitalVoyager exists to close that gap. Physician-founded, adventure-tested, and built for every kind of traveler — from the family heading to Costa Rica to the mission volunteer flying into rural Central America.
