Firearms and ammunition — including a single stray round in a carry-on — are illegal, police enforce the law even at the airport on departure, US citizens have been detained for weeks, and offenders can face twelve years or more. Check every bag before packing; the State Department cannot guarantee release.

Clinically: dengue is endemic and Aedes aegypti is on every island, so daylight DEET is standard regardless of outbreak status — and the 2023–24 outbreak was predominantly DENV-3, so anyone infected then carries elevated risk of severe disease on reinfection with a different serotype. The healthcare geography is the other conversation: Cheshire Hall on Providenciales is a good 20-bed facility with CT and MRI, but there is no hyperbaric chamber anywhere in TCI — divers need DAN coverage on top of medevac insurance, because decompression illness means evacuation to Nassau or Miami.
